The George of Stamford is perhaps England's greatest coaching Inn, retaining the charm and atmosphere of its long history and yet offering today's guest every modern comfort. All rooms are non smoking and have an en-suite bathroom (or shower), television with Sky and Teletext, direct dial telephone, complimentary wireless internet access, trouser press and hair-drier. In our fine restaurant, in magnificent oak-panelled surroundings, traditional yet imaginative English dishes of the highest quality are accompanied by a wine list rated as "outstanding" in both the Egon Ronay and Good Food Guides. More informal meals are served in the light and airy Garden Lounge or outside in the ivy-clad courtyard, when the weather smiles. The York Bar (Best Hotel Bar of the Year 2009 and Hotel dining bar of the year 2009 County Winner - Good pub guide) offers quick light snacks with a pint of Adnams real ale or our guest beer.

Free WiFi access may be available throughout the hotel or only in certain areas, such as reception or the bar, or only in some of the bedrooms - where we're aware of restrictions we've shown this.
